HERE IT IS, THANKS TO AMY!

So Amy of Our Family's Journey (click on link at the side of the blog) is the investigative blogging queen! She found the post that I spoke of previously, thanks so much Amy!

Here is the link:

So because I am new to blogging or slightly computer dumb, I don't know how to have links within the text of my post. So if I wanted to reference someone's blog and then have people just click on their name and be directed to their blog...how do I do that?

GRIEF CYCLE?

I am looking for a really great post that I ran across the other day. It's a post about how adoption is similar to the Kubler-Ross model on the stages of grief. It is a VERY frank and thought provoking post. She is adopting as well and really struggled with the greater good of adoption. As in...if I was truly a humanitarian and if I truly cared for the orphans of world as God calls us to do...I would send the LARGE amount of money that I was spending on adoption directly to the children. Rather than spending all this money on bringing one of these precious children home, what about giving the money to multiple families so that they could actually keep their children? This is stuff that we have really stuggled with and this gal's post nailed it on the head. Obviously, we have chosen to adopt and I'm seriously not sure what to say about it! Except to say that we believe that making a huge difference in just ONE child's life is important as well. So, if anyone happened to see it let me know. I found it by blog surfing and simply cannot find my way back!

WE ARE NUMBER...WHICH IS REALLY NO SURPRISE!

So we are still tootin' along and enjoying the summer. And really sure that we won't be travelling to pick up our son this summer. Ethiopia closes their court system in August and September, with that info we will probably travel to pick up our son in November. We do not have a referral for a baby yet but probably within the next 2 months it seems reasonable. And then a nice long wait to get the courts open. Referrals continue to occur despite the court closure, so who knows maybe we will have a little guy soon! Meanwhile, I get to check in on (via the blog world) a lot of families that have brought their children home, what a treat! So excited for these families and children. But also praying for families waiting to bring home their kids. That's a tough one...being a parent to a child on another continent!

And please be in prayer for Ethiopia, my heart breaks thinking of all the pain and strife in this country.

MOOOOOVEMENT!!!!!

Well being the blog addicted one I am...I must check blogs daily...we have finally had movement amongst the referrals!!!!!! Yea!!!! I believe at least 2 people have received referrals, so that means at least 2 more children have found forever families and are...Praise God, no longer orphans and parentless. What a difference adoption makes, one minute a child has not one person that personally loves them deeply and another minute they do. We look forward to our referral as well. We've gotten closer today.

MONTEREY and ADOPTION FRUSTRATION

We had a great time visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium last Monday. You know the trips that you throw your heart into planning and they just don't add up to what you thought they would be? Yeah. Done that. This little trip wasn't like that, it was completely last minute and we had such a stinking great time!

Ooooooo, sea stars!

Purple ice plant flowers along Asilomar Drive, so nice!

Otters, oh my! So close and really cute.

Last but not least, a trip to the famous Ghiradelli ice cream and chocolate shop!

A walk along the beach, thanks God for my family and your creation.

SO...ADOPTION FRUSTRATION!!

As soon as we are on the waiting list, all referrals have just stopped. I feel impatient, I am ready to complete our family, I want to see our son now!!!! I have not gotten our monthly update phone call, I want to know what's going on!!
